Handcrafted Soap

How is your soap made?

Soap is created when sodium hydroxide (lye) is mixed with oil (saponification).

I don't want to use soap with lye in it.  Can you make some without it?

Soap can only be created with the use of lye.  Once the lye is blended with the oils (2 days), it is no longer lye and no longer dangerous. Our soaps cure for 30 days before we sell them.  They are completely safe once you receive them.

Why is there a film on my hands after washing?  I don't get that from store bought soap.

The recipe I use for my handcrafted soap contains extra oils and butters to make the soap less harsh on your skin.  The "film" you feel on your skin after rinsing are these extra oils.

Incense

Why use charcoal incense?

Charcoal incense burns cleaner than wood punk incense and gives a more true scent when burned.  Charcoal incense produce less smoke than wood cones, release a more delicate fragrance and are generally cleaner burning since they have already been burned.

How do I  light an incense cone?

How to light incense cones:

[*] Hold the cone in your hand or with a tweezer.
[*] Light the pointy end of the cone with a match or lighter.
[*] Gently fan or blow out the flame or remnants of the flame. For some incense you may need to wait for a short while before blowing out the flame to ensure it properly lights up. This could range from 10-30 seconds.
[*] Check the incense tip where the flame was. If you see a small glowing ember, then the incense has been correctly lit. If you're unsure, leave the incense for a minute or so, then check again. If you do not see a glowing ember, you have completely extinguished the incense by accident, and will need to repeat steps 1-3 above.
[*] Place it into the incense holder.
[*] If the cones stops burning, simply repeat the above steps

Linen & Body Spray

Is Linen spray safe to use around children and pets?

Our Linen & Body Spray is crafted using the minimal amount of ingredients to make it safe to use on skin.  While you should not spray directly on pets, it is safe to use around them.  Everyone reacts differently to fragrances.  Test on inner wrist and wait 24 hours to see if there is any reaction the the ingredients.

Can I really use this in my toilet before I go?

YES! Spray the Linen/Body Spray into your toilet before you, ermm, go.

Wax Melts

Why did my wax melt stop smelling after a few days?

Wax melts don't last forever.  We pick our scents and waxes to get the strongest, longest scent we can.  You can expect one cube to last 2-3 days, some scent last even longer!
